But you can still buy bits of the Hacienda... Individual lots are being auctioned off on the 25th. But of course if you want a big steel bar from the Hacienda, you'll need to haul it from the UK.

The HACIENDA has been demolished. But this Hacienda was much more important than anything Guy Debord could've ever imagined. Scroll down to the November 14 reports while you can. If you're not into Manchester or '80s electro, you won't comprehend it anyway.

Happy Thanksgiving and welcome to the new look for kazys.net. It's an unhappy Thanksgiving if you're using the iCab browser since the new look is definitely NOT iCab compliant. Well, you can always go back to using Internet Explorer.

kbond's 'bricks and mortar' store on Beverly has Bruce Mau's Life Style in stock. Naturally, I picked up my copy and have been devouring it eagerly. For a taste, head over to Bruce Mau Design's online presence.

I have posted the first phase of Robert Sumrell's thesis on Muzak and the Technology of Affect. Next up, I intend to post Israel Kandarian's thesis on architecture, skateboard culture, and fashion, but first he has to come back from Rome.

I live next to a minor skyscraper at the corner of Fairfax and Wilshire. Like most modern buildings of considerable size, this skyscraper has a room for which, apparently, the light switch is unavailable or perhaps simply broken. The room is directly across from my live-work area. Over the course of the year, the room has been a temporary art gallery, an office with an iMac, a storage room, and a conference room. At the moment it is empty.

Three big additions tonight. One Paul Oakenfold CD for the stereo and two
new items for kazys.net.
First, a new index page for all the research and projects currently on kazys.net.
Second, view SCI-Arc thesis student Robert Sumrell's (advisors Jeffrey Inaba/Kazys Varnelis) visual argument for his thesis on Muzak. As this is an academic exercise only, all images are used only for academic purposes and not for commercial redistribution.
